What is debate vs. what is debate that's not really debate?

Well, Stewart was basically pleading with the two hosts of Crossfire to actually allow politicians to come on the show and have their say-take out the media and take them off their pedastle and let the American people hear what they have to say instead of yelling in their faces and telling them why they're wrong and what they should do about it. He was saying that politicians do not have a platform where they can go without an agenda and simply say who they are and what they're for. What does having dinner have anything to do with any of that? Absolutely nothing..Steward had them in the hot seat and they knew it-I thought it was interesting the show was cancelled not long after that.
